Like the elusive Dr Stephen Mak, Dr Imoloa has a
stockpile of fake reviews by satisfied patients claiming miracle cures for
every disease and ailment known to man.
The Hot Wire Times ran a post on Dr Mak on 29 September 2012 and it
has had 76,000 readers and an unknown number of comments, unknown because they
were mostly fake, repetitive, poorly written, and now long since deleted.
The reviews all have the same predictable,
semi-literate English with similar endless lists of magical cures. Sometimes
the comments recommend Dr Make, Dr Ong, Dr Odudu, Dr Akpe or Dr Zadson. One
should not be surprised if a Dr Pmurt (Trump spelled backwards) turns up with a
cure for Chinese trade wars.
Another clue common to many comments is the phone
number beginning +234……., the country code for Nigeria, the scam capital of the
world.
It’s unfortunate that the mainstream medical
profession is unable to cure everything and that effective and reliable drugs
are so expensive. But that is the reality of living and dying. The orthodox medical
profession and the pharmaceutical industry, despite occasional setbacks has
made highly commendable advances over the last 100 years. They do not deserve
the scepticism, suspicion and hatred which is levelled at them by some misguided
natural cure fanatics.
